Brackles - I Can’t Wait
This is a song to have sex to. Not in a The Weeknd-sexy-slow-mo-semi-romantic way, more in a “I’m going to fuck your brains out to this song like a gorilla on crack-cocaine and then you hopefully gonna get AIDS and die, so I don’t have to randomly bump into you on the street and feel awkward about the fact that you sat on my face the other day” way. So, yeah it’s quite the jam. Mozart would be jealous.
Azealia Banks & Lunice - Runnin’
Production here from Hudson Mohawke.
Azealia Banks - Jumanji
Alpines - Cocoon (Nocturnal Sunshine) listening to it right now :)
Nocturnal Sunshine AKA Maya Jane Coles - Meant to be (Original Mix)
For her self-titled full-length debut, Lissy Trullie did the unthinkable. She took her time - nearly three years to complete the project - and solicited producers who would push the boundaries of her voice. The result, a full-bodied piece of art that lends itself as much to the sub-genre ‘downtown cool’ as it does to the sounds of Sonny & Cher…Which is not very much, in my humbled opinion. Above all else, Lissy is an artist who is also a human being. She makes songs about love, family, and when she’s not online herself, the woes of living in a Twitter-fied society.
Congrats on the new album. Where are you now? Are you in New York, or are you on the road?
I’m in New York. How’s the reception been in the city thus far?
Pretty good so far, but most of the people I see are my friends. They’re never going to tell me the truth. It’s been pretty good. No complaints.Has the reaction differed from Self-Taught Learner?
Yeah, I think that people are really surprised by the sound of it. The EP was smaller or whatever. It’s been a long wait.
